Co-investigator for PELCI and Research Fellow at CHPM. Dr Johnston is a health economist focusing on applied health systems research, including evaluation of palliative care interventions across various healthcare settings and the affordability of healthcare for households in Ireland. Dr Johnston has experience in engagement with health policy makers in Ireland, notably as part of the academic team supporting the Sláintecare programme. In her research she also collaborates on studies in the UK, US and Jordan. Dr Johnston is the Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning for the SPHeRE PhD programme (HRB) and co-director of the Palliative Care Economics (PaCE) research group.
